Reflexions on the political and economic Lebanese  news.
Lebanese current events.

Tuesday 16 June 2009.

Warning to the leaders of 14 March Group: our supporters turn against you if you let Nabih BERRY return to the presidency of parliament.

I-Facts:

1
Nabih BERRY took the power of the Presidency of the parliament in 1992, thanks to pressure from the Syrian regime and the armed Hezbollah terrorist milicia. He remained in this position in 2005 through an unhealthy arrangement that was made with some leaders of 14 March Group, despite the emergence of a majority in parliament in favor of this anti Syrian group.

2
Since 2005, Nabih BERRY had continued to act in the interests of Syrian and Iranian regimes by paralyzing the Lebanese government when he wants.

3
Nabih BERRY is the head of a mafia which has the armed wing of Hezbollah party.

4
We voted on 7 June 2009 for the 14 March group on the basis of projects reported in the media for independent and Democratic majority that will put an end of all armed militias on Lebanese soil and will build a functional and democratic Strong State.

5
From the aftermath of the election results, and despite maintaining a 14 March Group majority, we found the reversal of sneaky and interested some leaders of this group. They speak well for the voters then secretly they haggle with their opponents to share the power of the State. We are disgusted. We are going to a further 4 years period of paralysis of the Lebanese State.

6
The pro Syrian militias and Hezbollah militarily continue to control half of the Lebanon territory. They imposed the names of Shiite MPs in the parliament. There were no free elections in these areas. Nabih BERRY is just the negotiator of this armed militia. Nabih BERRY is the dictator imposed by the Shiite community of Lebanon. We must not let hem dominate the parliament through blackmails.

II-The LSTDO position:

1
The LSTDO had advised its activists and supporters to vote for the March 14 group, hoping to rebuild a democratic, transparent and strong State. It was against the worst which is represented by the pro Syrian ideologies and the militia March 8 group.

2
We were also reminded that we will remain independent of the Group of 14 March and the policy of the President of the Republic, taking into account major disagreements about their non trusty attitudes. Their current decisions leave the Lebanese State and civil peace at the merci of pro Syrian armed militias in Lebanon.

3
Until proving the contrary, Hezbollah and the Syrian regime are suspected of having committed murder and terrorism in Lebanon.

4
With our respect for the Shiite community of Lebanon, we must reject any sharing of the State with terrorist groups who have confiscated the Shiite votes with money and threats throughout Lebanon. We don’t believe false official statements which claim that the elections in Lebanon were regulatory and free from pressure.

5
In 4 years in office, the Group of 14 March has done little for the social and economic problems in Lebanon under the pretext of having supported organized military threats from 8 March Block Group.

6
If Nabih BERRY returns to the presidency of parliament, this means that the first step of the 14 March Group, after the elections on 7 June 2009, is a serious act that will prevent it from achieving its election promises.

7
Giving in to blackmail seems to be the specialty of some leaders of the 14 March Group. In these circumstances we believe at the next outbreak of this incoherent group.

8
Giving the current unacceptable attitude of some leaders of the 14 March group who has the majority in the parliament, we are obliged to take a third political way. We oppose both pro Syrian groups of 8 March and the present majority of 14 March Group which does not keep its promises.
